How to Board a Zodiac Boat
Zodiac boats are the workhorses of polar expeditions. These large, heavy-duty inflatable vessels are extremely safe and were specially designed for traveling in the Arctic and Antarctic. Learn the easiest—and safest way—to board a Zodiac. 0:00 – #1. Wash your boots, tripods, and walking poles. 0:10 – #2. One guest down the gangway at a time. 0:18 – #3. Keep your hands free and hold the handrail. 0:25 – #4. Use the Sailor’s Grip. 0:32 – #5. Step onto the pontoon of the Zodiac, then the step. 0:39 – #6. Sit where your driver indicates.
