Molting penguin

Molting gentoo penguin at Neko Harbour, Antarctica.

When penguins molt it takes quite a bit of energy. They do not eat or move. We had to be very careful not to disturb this fellow and cause him to expend extra energy. A zoom lens was used so we did not have to get too close!
