An update from the Expedition Team on Ocean Endeavour, Falklands, South Georgia & Antarctica voyage, Dec 13, 2015-Jan 1, 2016.

Embarkation day is full of excitement and activity. Cabin assignments, briefings, drills and dinner fill the few precious hours of the evening. Yet there is always a moment as we leave the dock that all begin to realize their journey has just begun.

After the buildup of months and weeks of planning, days of traveling and packing, and hours of anticipation, the beginning of our expedition has finally arrived. The calm lull of the boat moving down the Beagle channel lets all of the stresses and worries of the real world melt away.

Everyone begins to explore at their leisure, grabbing a drink from the bar, wandering the outer decks, or enjoying an after-dinner cup of coffee in the library- all with our last glimpses of South America streaming by. Like the explorers before us we begin to process that the dream has become a reality, and all the possibilities of the next 18 days fill our minds. Eventually we head to bed with smiles on our faces and happiness in our hearts. It has begun!

It has begun!
